Interesting Mahi Toi Practise

At Paihia School in Te Ngahere we have been doing Mahi Toi. Our Mahi Toi is a piece of calendar art. I think that it is really fun but really hard at the same time. For Mahi Toi we have to draw over some lines, we also have to blend colors once we are finished with the drawing. We use coloring in pencils to blend the colors with. I think that I am doing really well at the moment. Do you enjoy doing art?

Interesting Pounamu Pendants Math

In Te Ngahere a group of students have been learning about percentages. We had to count all of the squares that create the background and divide it by 135 we then had to multiply it by 100 to get the percentages. Here is an example: if there were 67 full squares you will divide that by 135 witch is 0.49… then you times it by 100 to get the percentage and the percentage is 49 percent. Do you enjoy learning maths with your group?

Time To Make Rockets Boom

In Te Ngahere we have been launching our rockets. Yesterday on Wednesday Troy and Gustavo came in so that we could launch all of the groups rockets. Some of the groups rockets were still getting modified so they did not launch them. The group that got their rocket the longest got a big chocolate bar and the second and third got a little chocolate bar or a lollipop. The group that came first their rocket went 69.4 meters, and the second place rocket went 28.8 meters third place rocket went 22.4 meters. Have you created a bottle rocket before?

Sharing My Knowledge On Te Reo Maori

In Te Ngahere we have been learning Te Reo Maori. We were learning Te Reo Maori so that we can get better at pronouncing our Te reo Maori words. We had to create a slide DLO by adding sentences related to types of sports and phrases. At first I thought that it was really hard to write the correct sentences so that I did not say the words and phrases wrong. When we did all of the learning we then had to make a screencastify. Do you like Te Reo Maori?

How To Take Care Of A Chromebook

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to take care of our chromebooks so that it does not break by doing a Kawa Of Care DLO. I really enjoy learning about how to protect my chromebook by following the Kawa Of Care. You need to make sure that you do not eat or drink near your chromebook or do not walk around with your chromebook in one hand by the corner of the chromebook because it might fall and smash on the floor. Chromebooks are really helpful because it helps me type and help research things. Do you like to use a chromebook?
